Web UI Tour

Updated: 10/16/26, 9:52:54 AM

Spend a few minutes here after opening the panel to learn the interface structure; every other page in this section can then be located against this one. For the concrete operations of each page see Daily Operations — this page is about the interface itself.

Two Modes

The top-left of the panel switches between two modes:

ModePurposeLayout
Deployment WizardDeploy a stack from scratch, following six steps: environment check → global configuration → image build → base environment → service deployment → gateway hookupOne long page; the sidebar is the step navigation, each step with a completion status icon
Operations ModeDay-to-day operation after deployment, in any order, entering each management page from the sidebarOne page per function, grouped in the sidebar

Follow the Deployment Wizard for a first deployment; daily operations afterwards all happen in Operations Mode.

Page Map

The sidebar (collapsible via the button at its bottom) is organized in three groups:

Top Bar and User Menu

  • The top bar shows the current page title; the panel version number on the right is clickable and opens the panel upgrade dialog — a red dot appears on it when a new version is available.
  • The user avatar dropdown at the top right: change password, security settings (jumps to the Panel Settings page), sign out.

Login Page

  • The initial credentials are printed when installation completes; if you forget them, run daxpay info on the server.
  • A graphic captcha appears after consecutive login failures reach the threshold; five consecutive failures lock the account — unlock with daxpay unlock on the server.
  • With two-factor verification enabled, login has two stages: account and password first, then a 6-digit authenticator code or a recovery code.

How to enable each mechanism is covered in Panel Security.

Shared Interaction Patterns

The following interactions are shared across pages — learn them once.

Task center: the round button at the bottom right, gray when idle, blue while tasks run, red when there is an unread failure. It opens a right-side drawer with running tasks on top and history below; failed or partially successful tasks raise a global notification with a "View Logs" action, while successes only get a light toast. Long-running operations — deploys, builds, source pulls, gateway applies — all run as tasks and keep running when you switch pages. See Daily Operations - Task Center.

Log window: opened from the task center or a failure notification, floating and draggable. Its title bar shows task status and progress; it supports cancelling the task (with confirmation), clearing, copying, and downloading.

Drift banner: when saved configuration has not taken effect yet, a banner appears at the top of the page, its buttons split by blast radius: "Redeploy <service>" rebuilds only that container; a whole-stack "Redeploy" interrupts all services; "Apply Gateway Configuration" only reloads nginx without rebuilding. The small dot at the top-right corner of a service card means the same thing. Which change needs which action is listed in Configuration and Troubleshooting - How Changes Take Effect.

Service cards: read-only on the Overview page, jumping to the management page on click; operational on the Base Environment, Business Environment, and Gateway pages, offering start, stop, restart, and config buttons directly on the card, with low-frequency actions in the "More" dropdown (view logs, download log files, container details, redeploy, flush cache, delete container).

Confirmation dialogs: dangerous or high-impact operations — deploy, uninstall, delete, flush cache, change password, switch JVM type — always show a confirmation dialog explaining the consequences first; read it before confirming.

Resizable drawers: config, log, and detail drawers slide in from the right; drag the drawer's left edge to resize it, and the width is remembered the next time.
